THE ROLE

As a Test Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products and services. You will be responsible for designing, developing and executing test plans, as well as identifying and documenting defects to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will work with a meticulous attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a team. We are looking for someone who is great at working across multiple projects and able to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. In the Test Analyst role, you will be expected to prioritise different tasks across clients and use your knowledge and skills to collaborate and problem-solve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure the quality of software applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers and business analysts, to understand requirements and identify testing needs.
• Perform various types of testing, including manual, functional and non-functional testing.
• Identify, document and track defects using issue tracking tools, e.g. Jira and X-Ray.
• Work closely with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot reported issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Provide regular status updates and reports on testing progress to the Test Manager and stakeholders.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the testing process, including the implementation of best practices and automation strategies.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in testing methods and tools.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Proven experience of test analysis, test preparation and test execution.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, techniques and tools.
• Experience in designing and executing test cases.
• Experience in using API testing tools.
• Well versed with Test Management tools, such as Jira, Zephyr, X-ray and Bugzilla.
• Possess a good knowledge of enterprise application architecture and technologies including web, web services, client-server and databases.
• Ability to effectively interact with Manager, Team Leader, fellow team members and product stakeholders.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries for database testing.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

• Good data structure, algorithm and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience of the Financial Services industry, whether banking, FinTech or other.
• Experience of working with Agile, Scrum and/or DevOps process management methodologies
• ISTQB certification
